The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU) is gearing up for several film releases in the coming years. The film ‘Thamma’, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, is next in line, with its trailer launching on September 26. The film is inspired by the tale of Betal. During a press conference, the team announced a special project, which has already been planned by MHCU.
Shraddha Kapoor, the star of the Stree films, participated in the announcement. She revealed that an animated film titled ‘Choti Stree’ will be released in theaters before ‘Stree 3’. The actress explained that this film is aimed at children and families and will set the stage for ‘Stree 3’, which will integrate animation and live-action elements.
‘Choti Stree’ will also feature Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. She previously starred in ‘Stree’ and ‘Stree 2’. Shraddha stated, “This is my favorite part. Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is bringing an animated film Choti Stree which will be released in theaters. It is for children and families. This is an exciting time for the audience.” The makers have not yet revealed the cast of ‘Choti Stree’.
Producer Dinesh Vijan stated about ‘Choti Stree’, “Its end will merge into a scene from Stree 3. It will transition from animation to live action, revealing the backstory. You won’t have to wait much longer. It will release 6 months before Stree 3.” Stree 3 is officially set for release on August 13, 2027. It is expected that ‘Choti Stree’ will be released in late 2026 or early 2027. MHCU has upcoming titles like Stree 3, Mahamunjya, Shakti Shalini, Chamunda, Pehla Mahayuddh and Dusra Mahayuddh. Meanwhile, ‘Thamma’ is scheduled to release on October 21, coinciding with Diwali.
