Mahesh Bhatt was born in Mumbai on September 20, 1948, and began his directorial career with ‘Manzilen Aur Bhi Hain’ in 1974. He is also known for directing notable films like ‘Lahu Ke Do Rang’, ‘Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi’, ‘Sadak’, ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’, and ‘Aashiqui’.
‘Tadipaar’, released in 1993, included Mithun Chakraborty, Juhi Chawla, and Anupam Kher in its cast. Despite the music being created by the popular duo Nadeem-Shravan, the film did not do well commercially, with a lifetime collection of 2.30 crore.
‘Zakhm’, released in 1998, featured Pooja Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Kunal Khemu. While the film underperformed, the song ‘Gali Mein Aaj Chand Nikla’ was a success. The film’s lifetime collection was 4.22 crore.
‘Duplicate’, also released in 1998, starred Shah Rukh Khan in a double role, with Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre in supporting roles. The film’s music was well-received, but it did not achieve commercial success, with a lifetime collection of 10.17 crore.
‘Dastak’, released in 1996, featured Mukul Dev, Sharad Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen. The film was not successful, with a lifetime collection of 3.01 crore.
‘Chaahat’, released in 1996, featured Shah Rukh Khan, Pooja Bhatt, and Naseeruddin Shah. Despite the popularity of its music, the film was not commercially successful, earning a lifetime collection of 6.87 crore.
