Pawan Kalyan, the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh and a prominent Telugu actor, has commented on the evolution of Indian cinema, specifically targeting Bollywood. In his view, Hindi cinema has been significantly influenced by commercialism and globalization, leading to a departure from its cultural heritage. He observed that South Indian films are now more effectively representing Indian culture, in contrast to Bollywood’s perceived compromise on cultural authenticity. He cited ‘Dangal’ as an example of a culturally resonant Bollywood film, though one that has become less common. Kalyan is also busy with his upcoming films, including ‘Hari Hara Veera Mallu’, ‘They Call Him OG’ and ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’.
