Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra’s films have consistently charmed fans, and their on-screen partnership has been highly regarded. Both actors are currently occupied with their individual cinematic endeavors. Shah Rukh Khan is working on ‘King,’ as well as focusing on his children’s careers, while Priyanka Chopra is preparing for her return to Indian cinema and is currently filming for Rajamouli’s SSMB29. An interesting twist is Priyanka’s involvement in a project that has ties to a previously abandoned film featuring Shah Rukh Khan.
Details have emerged on a news website indicating that Priyanka is starting a project under her banner, Purple Pebble Pictures. The project is an Indian-Swedish collaboration, with Priyanka serving as executive producer for the documentary ‘The Cycle of Love.’ This project connects to Shah Rukh Khan via the long-delayed Bollywood film ‘Izhaar.’
Sanjay Leela Bhansali was planning a feature film based on this story in 2013. Shah Rukh Khan was slated to play PK Mahanandia, a character who, with only paintbrushes and a bicycle, sets off on a journey across Asia and Europe to find his love.
Bhansali had also worked with Shah Rukh Khan on ‘Devdas,’ and another film was planned with Warner Bros., but it was later abandoned.
In 2019, the project was again in the news with speculation that Bhansali was going to prioritize ‘Izhaar’ after shelving ‘Inshallah.’ However, these reports were inaccurate.
The documentary, ‘The Cycle of Love,’ is a portrayal of the love story of PK Mahanandia, a Delhi street artist who cycled 6,000 miles in 1977 to meet his love. The documentary is being directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, who previously directed the Oscar-winning documentary ‘The White Helmets’.
