Rajesh’s father, Chuda Bahadur Hamal, was a distinguished diplomat, who also served as the Nepalese ambassador to Pakistan. Rajesh is hailed as the ‘Mahanayak’ of Nepali cinema. Hamal launched his acting career in 1991, with his peak success occurring during the 1990s and early 2000s.
