Rati Pandey, born on September 11, 1982, in Assam, moved with her family to Patna at the age of seven. She completed her schooling in Patna, where she was a classmate of a sister of the late Sushant Singh Rajput.
After completing her education at Delhi University, Rati participated in Idea Zee Cinestars ki Khoj in 2006. This led to her acting debut in CID.
