
Punjabi actor and singer Rajvir Jawanda has tragically passed away, eleven days after a severe road accident left him on a ventilator. The news of his death, which occurred Wednesday morning at Fortis Hospital in Mohali, has sent shockwaves through the industry.
Diljit Dosanjh, currently on his ‘Aura Tour 2025’ in Australia, shared his grief and paid tribute to Jawanda via Instagram Stories. He posted a reverent image of Jawanda at the Golden Temple, adding the Punjabi word ‘Waheguru.’ Dosanjh had previously encouraged his fans to keep Jawanda in their prayers during his critical period.
The accident that gravely injured Jawanda took place while he was riding his motorcycle on the Pinjore-Nalagarh Road. A bull unexpectedly emerged in his path, causing him to lose control and sustain serious head and spinal injuries. He remained in critical condition on life support until his final moments.
Jawanda first entered the music scene in 2014 with his album ‘Munda Like Me.’ He gained significant popularity with ‘Kali Jawanda Di’ in 2016, followed by chart-topping songs like ‘Muqabla’ and ‘Kangana.’ His discography includes many beloved tracks such as ‘Patiala Shahi Pag’ and ‘Surname.’ Jawanda also made his mark in Punjabi cinema, debuting in ‘Subedar Joginder Singh’ in 2018 and appearing in subsequent films including ‘Kaka Ji’ and ‘Sikandar 2.’
Punjab’s Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, expressed deep sorrow over Jawanda’s passing, recognizing him as a significant loss to the Punjabi music and film fraternity. He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and his numerous fans.
