
The highly anticipated ‘Kantara Chapter 1,’ starring Rishab Shetty, has been released in theaters, acting as a prequel to the 2022 hit ‘Kantara.’ The film has received a positive response, establishing itself as a key attraction this week. Box office data reveals that ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ accumulated Rs 43.65 crore on its second day of release. This brings the total collection to over Rs 100 crore, with a current total of Rs 105.5 crore. The cast includes Rishab Shetty in the role of Berme, alongside Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The film’s visual elements are directed by cinematographer Arvind S. Kashyap and accompanied by music from B. Ajaneesh Loknath. Vijay Kiragandur produces the film under the Hombale Films banner. The original ‘Kantara’ (2022), directed by Rishab Shetty, also featured Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar. It explored the narrative of a Kambala champion navigating conflicts related to ancestral land and the balance of nature. ‘Kantara’ achieved the status of the highest-grossing Kannada film at the time of its release, with Rishab Shetty winning a National Film Award. The film is currently competing in the Hindi market against ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’.
