
The much-awaited ‘Kantara Chapter 1,’ starring Rishab Shetty, has been released and is receiving positive reviews. The film serves as a prequel to the hit 2022 Kannada movie ‘Kantara’. The film’s arrival in theaters has been highly anticipated. The movie has successfully made its mark, despite the presence of several significant releases in recent weeks. The film’s opening day box office collection was Rs 60 crore. Although the film has opened with a strong collection, it did not surpass the first-day earnings of ‘They Call Him OG’ which collected Rs 63.73 crore, and ‘Coolie’ which earned Rs 77 crore. In the Hindi market, the film is contending with ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’. Rishab Shetty portrays the character of Berme, joined by Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The film’s cinematography is by Arvind S. Kashyap, and the music is composed by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, whose work on the first film received praise. The movie is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner. The 2022 film ‘Kantara’ was directed by Rishab Shetty and featured Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar. The narrative focused on a Kambala champion’s clash, exploring the themes of sacred land, ancestral legacy, and the interplay between nature and law. ‘Kantara’ broke records as the highest-grossing Kannada film, with Rishab Shetty receiving the National Film Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
