Saad shared insights into his experience working on ‘Dhadak 2’, his journey with Dharma Productions, and other career highlights during an exclusive interview.
The actor expressed gratitude for the positive response to ‘Dhadak 2,’ including support from well-known figures in the industry. He discussed his ambition to work in the film industry and his excitement when Ishaan Khattar and Anurag Kashyap mentioned him on social media. He described this as a significant achievement, especially for someone from a small town.
Saad revealed he initially auditioned for a different role in ‘Dhadak 2’ before he was offered the antagonist’s part. Being cast in a Dharma Productions film was a dream come true for him.
He recalled his first visit to the Dharma office, highlighting the emotional impact of seeing portraits of Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan on the walls.
Saad also praised director Shazia Iqbal’s welcoming attitude. He mentioned that she immediately confirmed his casting and asked about his comfort, showing a humble and generous approach.
Saad spoke about the emotionally challenging nature of some scenes in ‘Dhadak 2.’ He mentioned scenes where he had to humiliate people, particularly older individuals, and scenes with Triptii Dimri, which involved physical fights. He mentioned how he apologized to her repeatedly, but she reassured him that it was not needed.
He shared that there were other scenes where he had to urinate on Siddhant Chaturvedi and also remove the clothes of the actor who played his father, to humiliate them. These scenes were really hard-hitting while performing. After coming home, he spoke to his partner and cried a lot. Earlier, he used to wonder why actors cry after performing some scenes, and now I understand why.
Saad lauded his co-stars, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, who collaborated for the first time. He admired Siddhant and his work in ‘Gully Boy’ and also mentioned that Triptii is a big star, and they both showed him generosity.
Saad’s journey in Bollywood inspires many aspiring actors in Mumbai. Before ‘Dhadak 2,’ he worked on projects such as ‘Gullak,’ ‘Panchayat Season 3,’ ‘Ghar Waapsi,’ ‘Hostel Daze,’ and ‘Khuda Haafiz 2.’
