The film and television fraternity is in deep sorrow following the demise of celebrated actor Satish Shah at the age of 74. While initial speculation pointed to kidney failure, actor Rajesh Kumar has clarified that Shah passed away due to a sudden heart attack. Kumar, who shared screen space with Shah in ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,’ explained that Shah’s kidney issues were under control, following a bypass surgery and a recent kidney transplant. Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar shed light on the deeply personal reasons behind Shah’s transplant: to extend his life and provide care for his wife, Madhu Shah, who is bravely battling Alzheimer’s disease. Pilgaonkar spoke fondly of the couple’s consistent presence and support at industry gatherings, emphasizing the irreplaceable gap left by Shah. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news, hailing Shah as an outstanding artist and a compassionate individual. Veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, a friend of over fifty years, expressed his grief, recalling Shah’s dedication, including his dialysis treatments, and mentioned that Shah’s health faced challenges after his kidney transplant. Satish Shah’s career, marked by unforgettable performances in classics like ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ and the beloved ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai,’ will forever be cherished.
