
Fifty years after its release on August 15, 1975, the film ‘Sholay’ continues to resonate with audiences. Raveena Tandon has taken the opportunity to remember Mac Mohan, who played the character ‘Samba’ in this cinematic classic. ‘Sholay’ is celebrated for its memorable characters and the film’s influence on Indian cinema remains significant.
Raveena recalled her connection to the actor, mentioning that he was her uncle. She also shared anecdotes about working with the director Ramesh Sippy, highlighting the film’s enduring legacy. Tandon fondly remembered Mac Mohan’s performance in the film ‘Kaala Patthar,’ saying that she cried during the scene where he dies. “I was almost four years old. I was crying. My father took me out of the theatre because I was disturbing everyone,” she said, also remembering his endearing personality.
