Shraddha Kapoor is moving forward with a major film project, following announcements for ‘Stree 2’ and other potential roles. She is collaborating with the team that delivered a box office success with Vicky Kaushal. The film is titled ‘Vittha’ and will be directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. Kapoor will embody Vithabai Narayangaonkar, a Lavani artist known as the ‘Tamasha Queen,’ who was a major name in Maharashtra’s folk theatre. Her performances and impact on Marathi culture will be a key focus. The filmmakers have secured life rights from Narayangaonkar’s family, who live in Pune, and production is set to begin soon. Casting is ongoing, with a search for a male lead to star opposite Kapoor. The film will also explore the integration of Bollywood and regional art forms, aiming for a similar success as ‘Chhava’, which also had ties to Pune.
