Shweta Tiwari, the celebrated actress from ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’ (2001), became a familiar face in Indian households. Before her acting career took off, she was married and had a child. After her initial marriage ended, she remarried, but that relationship also ended in divorce. Currently 44 years old, Shweta is a single mother enjoying a fulfilling life. She discussed her perspective on romance in a recent interview.
During an interview with Galata India’s YouTube channel, Shweta shared her experiences, including successes and failures. She talked about her two failed marriages and what she now thinks about romance. When asked if her definition of love changed after her life experiences, Shweta said, ‘No, nothing has changed regarding love, but it has changed regarding relationships. You can have love for your parents, children, and friends, but you cannot form relationships with everyone. After what has happened in my life, I have stopped trusting in relationships. I stand by my close friends in their difficult times, but it’s not easy for me to trust anyone easily now.’
She further elaborated, ‘If you talk about romance in a relationship, I don’t think about it. I even skip the romance part when I read books. If I watch something, I think, what is going on (laughing)? I make fewer relationships now, and if they happen, I can’t believe it. So, there has been a rift in relationships, but not in love; love is a good thing, and I love my children very much, I am living a good life.’
