Aamir Khan’s theatrical release, Sitaare Zameen Par, has arrived. The film explores the experiences of specially-abled children, with Khan taking on the role of a basketball coach. Directed by RS Prasanna, the movie stars Genelia D’Souza alongside ten new actors who portray specially-abled individuals. The film is a remake of the Spanish film Campeones.
Initial feedback suggests a positive reception, despite modest advance bookings. Projections for the first day indicate a collection of Rs 9–10 crore, with a potential increase beyond Rs 10 crore due to evening and night screenings.
Trade analysts suggest the film is positioned for a successful weekend, possibly accumulating Rs 40–45 crore during its initial three days, provided the current positive trend continues.
Additionally, Aamir Khan reportedly rejected a substantial offer of Rs 120 crore from Amazon Prime Video for the film’s OTT rights. The success of Sitaare Zameen Par in cinemas is a critical factor, as the movie’s box office performance will determine the financial outcome.
Notably, Aamir Khan’s previous film, Laal Singh Chaddha, earned Rs 58.73 crore during its theatrical run.
