The upcoming film SSMB29, starring Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra and directed by S.S. Rajamouli, is making waves with a potential Hollywood connection. The film’s title and details are expected to be revealed in November 2025, but the project is already creating excitement, particularly due to its link to James Cameron, the director of Titanic.
Reports suggest that Cameron might announce the title of SSMB29 while promoting Avatar 3: Fire and Ash in India. The project is expected to be a global jungle adventure film, where Mahesh Babu plays a courageous explorer inspired by characters like Indiana Jones and elements from African folklore.
The film’s budget is set at a staggering 900-1000 crore rupees. While initial plans considered a two-part release, the film is now slated to be a single film, aiming for a 2027 release. The team is planning to start shooting in South Africa in September 2025, with Priyanka Chopra Jonas already involved in scenes shot in Hyderabad.
The film’s official announcement is set for November, coinciding with Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday celebrations, with the promise of a unique reveal. The film’s rumored title is “Globetrotter”.
