
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor star in ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,’ a romantic comedy that aims to bring back the charm of the genre. The movie features Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra in supporting roles, with the story focusing on Sunny and Tulsi as they attempt to win back their ex-partners. The film opened in theaters concurrently with ‘Kantara: Chapter 1,’ creating a competitive scenario.
The box office performance of ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ began with a modest opening. The film earned roughly Rs 9.25 crore on its first day. Collections experienced a dip on the second day, reaching approximately Rs 5.5 crore, representing a drop of nearly 40.5%. However, the film saw a resurgence on the third day, with estimated earnings of Rs 7.25 crore. The total gross for the film in its first three days is around Rs 22 crore.
‘Kantara Chapter 1,’ the prequel to the 2022 hit, directed by Rishab Shetty, is providing tough competition at the box office. Early figures indicate the film earned approximately Rs 55 crore on its third day, bringing its total to roughly Rs 162.85 crore in three days, marking it as a significant success.
Shashank Khaitan directed the film. Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan produced the movie under Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment. Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra are also part of the cast. ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ is the second time Varun and Janhvi have worked together.
