
The final film in ‘The Conjuring’ franchise, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites,’ is enjoying significant success at the Indian box office. The film is performing better than its domestic counterparts and has already established numerous records in its debut week. Directed by Michael Chaves and featuring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, the film maintained its positive performance on Tuesday. The film earned approximately ₹5.68 crore on Tuesday, reflecting a 13.6% increase from Monday’s ₹5 crore collection. This strong performance is following a successful opening weekend where it surpassed the ₹50.5 crore net mark in three days. The total net collection for the film has reached ₹61.18 crore and grossed ₹60.40 crore. This is believed to be the largest opening for a Hollywood horror film in India. ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ is nearing the ₹61.80 crore record held by ‘The Conjuring 2’ in India. Previously, ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ had broken that record, earning ₹62.12 crore. Given its current trajectory, ‘Last Rites’ is expected to surpass both of these films. By day five, the film’s total gross collection had reached ₹67.5 crore. The English version of the film earned ₹33.34 crore, while the Hindi dub contributed ₹24.38 crore. The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions earned ₹2.51 crore and ₹95 lakh, respectively. The total collection from regional languages amounted to ₹3.46 crore. ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has surpassed domestic films, leading the box office. Globally, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has achieved the biggest opening for a horror film to date. The film earned $194 million worldwide in its first weekend, surpassing the $190 million earned by the 2017 film ‘It’. Of this, $110 million came from the overseas market, which represents a new international record for the horror genre. Including films like ‘The Nun’ and ‘Annabelle,’ the ‘Conjuring’ franchise has now become the most successful horror series in history, with a total gross exceeding $2.3 billion.
