While contemporary Bollywood actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Nayanthara are often celebrated, Juhi Chawla stands apart as India’s richest female star. Her wealth significantly surpasses that of her peers, even though she’s no longer a full-time actress. The Hurun India Rich List 2025 highlights Chawla’s impressive net worth of ₹7790 crore (nearly $880 million), placing her among the world’s wealthiest actors. Chawla, a prominent figure in 1990s Bollywood, subsequently took on supporting roles in the 2000s. From 2010 onwards, her film appearances have been selective, including roles in films like “Gulaab Gang,” “Chalk and Duster,” “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga,” “Sharmaji Namkeen,” and “Fridays Night Plan.” Many of the films she has starred in over the last ten years have been released directly on OTT platforms or were smaller independent productions. The last time Chawla had a major role in a box office hit was in Ajay Devgn’s “Son of Sardaar” in 2012. The Hurun Research Institute releases the annual Hurun Rich List, which also revealed Mukesh Ambani as India’s richest individual, excluding those in the film industry.
