Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4, featuring a cast including Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Sandhu, and Sonam Bajwa, premiered on September 5th. The film’s release saw it competing not only with other movies but also with the legacy of its own franchise. While praised for Shroff’s action sequences, Baaghi 4’s opening day collection fell short of its predecessors.
The Baaghi franchise has a successful track record, with the initial two installments being major hits. Baaghi 3, while not a massive blockbuster, still managed to perform well. Baaghi 4 generated significant excitement, especially with Sanjay Dutt playing the villain.
According to Sacnilk’s latest report, Baaghi 4 earned 12 crore on its opening day. Initial projections, considering advance bookings, were in the range of 12-14 crore. The film, made with a budget of 200 crore, has received mixed feedback. Critics are suggesting that the film needs to perform better at the box office to recover the investment.
Comparing the opening day numbers, Baaghi 2 and Baaghi 3 surpassed Baaghi 4’s performance. Baaghi 2, released in 2018, collected 25 crore on its first day. Baaghi 3, which hit the screens in 2020, earned 17.50 crore on its opening day.
Baaghi 4’s true test begins now. The film, directed by A. Harsh and budgeted at 200 crore, also stars Saurabh Sachdev, Upendra Limaye, and Shreyas Talpade, among others. Although the weekend could provide a boost, the real challenge lies in sustaining momentum from Monday onwards.
