
The trailer for Vivek Agnihotri’s film, ‘The Bengal Files,’ which focuses on the 1946 communal violence in Bengal, has been released, leading to public reactions. Saswata Chatterjee, a Bengali actor featured in the film, addressed the controversy. Chatterjee clarified that his role was limited to acting. He explained he is not an expert on history. He stated, if there are objections to the trailer’s depiction of Bengal’s history, legal options are available. Chatterjee mentioned that he wasn’t informed of the entire story, only his character. The film is scheduled to be released in cinemas on September 5, 2025. The movie has a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. Notable actors in the film include Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar. There are doubts whether the film will be released in Bengal.
