
Zubeen Garg, the renowned singer, has passed away following a scuba diving accident in Singapore. News of his death was confirmed by the North East India Festival in Singapore. Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is managing the arrangements to transport the singer’s mortal remains back to India. The post-mortem examination was completed in Singapore. The singer’s remains are now being handed over to an accompanying team, including Shri Shekar Jothi Goswami, Shri Sandeepan Garg, and Shri Siddharth Sharma (Manager), in the presence of officers from the Indian Embassy. Garg reportedly experienced breathing difficulties while scuba diving and received immediate medical attention, including CPR, before being rushed to Singapore General Hospital. He was later declared dead in the ICU. Zubeen Garg’s musical journey started in 1992 with his album ‘Anamika’. He recorded early songs in 1993, including ‘Tumi Junu Pariba Hun’ and ‘Tumi Junaki Hubakh’. He released his first bihu album, Ujan Piriti, before moving to Mumbai in 1995. The song ‘Ya Ali’ from the movie ‘Gangster’ in 2006 marked a significant milestone in his career.
