
The Bombay High Court has taken up the petition filed by the victims of the 2008 Malegaon blast case. The court will now hear the plea. Maulana Arshad Madani, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has announced that his organization will provide legal assistance to the victims, aiming to secure justice.
Maulana Madani, in his announcement, said that the Bombay High Court has accepted the petition filed by the Malegaon-2008 bomb blast victims, challenging the previous court’s verdict. The court has issued notices to all seven accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and Colonel Purohit, and also to the NIA.
Sharing the development on X, Maulana Arshad Madani stated that Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind would engage top criminal lawyers to represent the victims in the Malegaon 2008 bomb blast case.
He further informed that the Bombay High Court has accepted the petition filed by the victims and issued notices to all accused, including Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, Colonel Purohit, and the NIA. The next hearing is slated to take place after six weeks.
Maulana Madani further explained that the special NIA court acquitted all the accused in July 2025, due to a lack of evidence. The bomb blast victims are now seeking justice again in the High Court, supported by the legal aid provided by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind.
He also mentioned that the victims had placed their full trust in Jamiat and authorized the filing of a petition in the High Court, resulting in the hearing. He added that renowned criminal lawyers will be consulted during the forthcoming hearings of the important case and that it will be pursued with utmost seriousness in the High Court.
