A Boeing aircraft has confirmed that they are in contact with Air India following the crash of flight AI-171 near Ahmedabad. The flight, bound for London’s Gatwick Airport, crashed shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad. Boeing stated their readiness to assist Air India and expressed their concern for the passengers, crew, and first responders. The flight was carrying a total of 265 people, including 169 Indian nationals. The FAA is coordinating with the NTSB on the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed sorrow and assured assistance. Captain Sumeet Sabharwal commanded the aircraft which departed from Runway 23 and issued a mayday call before the crash.
