
In the aftermath of the Air India flight AI-171 crash near Ahmedabad airport, the father of deceased cabin crew member Nganthoy Sharma Kongbralatpam has shared his distress over the lack of communication from Air India and the government. The Boeing 787-8 aircraft, destined for Gatwick, London, crashed shortly after takeoff. The father stated that he was informed about the incident and subsequent developments only through social media. He expressed deep disappointment at not receiving any direct information or assistance from the airline or the state government. He has appealed for government support for the grieving families. The flight had 242 people on board, with 241 fatalities reported. The Tata Group has pledged financial aid. The accident occurred after the aircraft took off from runway 23, with dense smoke visible at the site. Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a review of the accident and inspected the area.
