
Air India has made a key decision concerning its workforce, elevating the retirement age for pilots to 65 years and for its other employees to 60 years. This update reflects a shift from the existing retirement age of 58 years, which applies to both pilot and non-pilot staff. The announcement of the amended retirement ages was communicated during a town hall meeting hosted by CEO and MD Campbell Wilson. The revised retirement age for Air India pilots will be 65 years, and for other employees, it will be 60 years. The airline currently employs around 24,000 personnel, encompassing about 3,600 pilots and around 9,500 cabin crew members. The status of the cabin crew’s retirement age, currently set at 58 years, remained unconfirmed at the time of this report.
