With the Amarnath Yatra approaching, IGP Kashmir Zone VK Birdi revealed the extensive security measures in place to facilitate a safe and seamless pilgrimage starting next week. Speaking at the Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam, IGP Birdi highlighted the critical support of local residents in ensuring a positive Yatra experience. The Jammu and Kashmir Police, working with other security agencies, have created a robust, multi-layered security plan, surpassing previous years in scope. Security protocols are carefully implemented throughout the Yatra route and related sectors. Security forces are conducting SOP drills across all areas. IGP Birdi expressed appreciation for the local communities’ enthusiastic backing, recognizing their essential role in the pilgrimage.
