A government school teacher in Telangana’s Vikarabad district is suspended after an incident on June 24 where she brought an animal brain to the classroom for educational purposes. Police have initiated a case. Some students claimed the teacher said the brain belonged to a crow. The police, however, are working to ascertain the animal’s species. The teacher is being investigated under the Cow Slaughter Act. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) protested the incident, claiming it was offensive, prompting education officials to suspend the teacher. In a related development, Kerala’s Public Education and Employment Minister has ordered an investigation into a building collapse in Thrissur district that resulted in the deaths of three migrant workers.
