
At a recent event in New Delhi, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi released the book ‘Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan,’ written by Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon. The book provides an account of Indian military actions against Pakistan. General Dwivedi clarified that Operation Sindoor is still active. He stated that the book reflects the bravery of the Indian Army and the nation. He noted the coordinated way in which the Indian Army conducted itself during the operation.
General Dwivedi spoke about the ongoing nature of the conflict, stating that it extended beyond the commonly cited date of May 10th. The operation was initiated on May 7th in response to the Pahalgam attack on April 22, with the armed forces targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Army Chief explained that Pakistani forces retaliated, leading to Indian counterattacks under Operation Sindoor, which resulted in approximately four days of fighting. A ceasefire was agreed upon on the evening of May 10th. General Dwivedi highlighted the book’s inclusion of rarely discussed aspects. He expressed his gratitude towards Lieutenant General Dhillon (Retd) for the meticulous work in compiling the book. General Dwivedi emphasized the significance of these border conflicts.
