A significant breakthrough in the Baba Siddique murder case has led to the arrest of Zeeshan Akhtar, the alleged mastermind, in Canada. Akhtar, also known as Jassi or Yasin Akhtar, is now in the custody of Canadian law enforcement. The murder of Baba Siddique occurred on October 12, 2024, near his son’s office in Bandra. The extradition process is underway to bring Akhtar back to India for further investigation and legal action. Reports indicate possible involvement of Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother-in-law. It is believed that Lawrence Bishnoi masterminded the murder, with the primary motivation linked to Baba Siddique’s close relationship with Bollywood actor Salman Khan, suggesting this connection led to his targeting. Investigations revealed ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang, resulting in the arrest of 26 people, including key shooters Shiv Kumar Gautam and Anmol Bishnoi. Prior to this, Lawrence had plans for a shooting at Singer AP Dhillon’s residence in Canada. Following Siddique’s murder, his son, Zeeshan Siddique, was also threatened. Authorities are closely tracking developments and are awaiting further details regarding the case. Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar was previously identified by the Mumbai Crime Branch as a crucial figure in the planning, providing information and support to the shooters, including organizing their accommodations. Akhtar hails from Shakar village in Nakodar, Jalandhar, and was arrested in 2022 for organized crime, murder, and robbery. He was released on June 7, 2024, and allegedly received directives from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, while in Patiala Jail, to assassinate Siddique.
