The Bihar government has greenlit a series of initiatives aimed at improving governance and citizen welfare. A primary decision involves providing accommodation to women government servants near their postings, addressing the needs of teachers and other female employees, particularly those in distant locations. The government will lease accommodations from private landlords, with rent and selection managed by the local administration. Furthermore, the cabinet approved the creation of 8093 clerical positions within the Panchayati Raj Department to enhance the implementation of panchayat schemes and office documentation. Other approvals include establishing an Agriculture Marketing Directorate, amending the Bihar Birth & Death Rules, and launching Mega Skill Centres for youth training. The cabinet also sanctioned revisions to municipal area advertisement regulations, extended the PM Awas Yojana to specific Scheduled Tribe communities, and authorized funding for flood management initiatives. In a related action, seven health department employees were terminated for prolonged unauthorized absences.
