The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projecting a strong performance for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Bihar Assembly elections, with the party’s national president confidently predicting a two-thirds majority. This forecast highlights the NDA’s strategic positioning and perceived electoral strength as Bihar gears up for polling on November 6 and November 11. The vote count is slated for November 14.
In a public statement, the BJP chief also criticized the Mahagathbandhan’s apparent indecision regarding candidate selection and seat allocation. He contrasted this with the NDA’s streamlined process, noting that seat-sharing talks have been successfully concluded, and candidate announcements are underway. This efficient coordination, he implied, gives the NDA a significant edge over its rivals.
“All parties have discussed seat sharing and constituencies. After these discussions, each party is now announcing its candidates… We were the first to share information about our seat-sharing arrangements. We have announced our initial list of candidates, with more to follow soon… There is no problem anywhere. Currently, I am heading to the JDU office, where we will further discuss this matter… As of now, Mahagathbandhan has neither provided the correct figures about their seat sharing nor announced their candidates… NDA will win with a two-thirds majority,” he remarked to the press, emphasizing the alliance’s readiness and the opposition’s lack of preparedness.
The Janata Dal (United) (JDU) has commenced its candidate declarations by releasing a list of 57 nominees for the first phase, endorsed by Nitish Kumar. Prominent candidates include Sunil Kumar for Bhore (SC). Earlier, the BJP had announced its first list comprising 71 candidates. The NDA’s seat-sharing arrangement is clear: the BJP and JDU will each contest 101 seats, while the Lok Janshakti Party is allocated 29 seats. The Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha will participate in six seats apiece, solidifying the alliance’s collective strategy for the Bihar electoral contest.
