Alongside the efforts of various political parties, the Election Commission is actively involved in preparations. A team from the Election Commission is currently in Bihar to assess the election readiness. The Chief Election Commissioner and other officials are scheduled to meet with political parties, police, and district officials today.
With the Bihar Assembly elections approaching, an Election Commission team has arrived in Patna. The team includes Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, and Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, who are on a two-day visit to the capital city. The purpose of their visit is to review the ongoing election preparations.
A key meeting with political parties is scheduled for today morning. The meeting is expected to take place at the Taj Hotel in Patna, where high-level discussions will be held with representatives from various political parties. The Election Commission has invited several major parties in the state, including the BJP, JDU, RJD, and Congress, to attend the meeting.
The Election Commission recently held a briefing session in New Delhi for over 400 officers who will be deployed as central observers for the Bihar elections and various by-elections across India. These observers will serve as the Election Commission’s representatives on the ground, monitoring and reporting on the electoral process.
At a meeting of observers appointed for the Bihar elections, officials were instructed to thoroughly understand and enforce all election laws, rules, and guidelines with impartiality.
There is considerable anticipation for the announcement of the Bihar Assembly election dates. Following the Election Commissioner’s visit, an announcement is expected soon. The Election Commission typically evaluates the state’s readiness and the government’s preparedness before setting the election dates.
