In a significant cabinet reshuffle, Samrat Choudhary is slated to become the new Home Minister of Bihar, taking over a portfolio that has been under the direct purview of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for two decades. This transition marks a pivotal moment in the state’s governance as the newly formed NDA government settles into power after a decisive electoral victory.
Choudhary, who previously held the position of Deputy Chief Minister, will now oversee critical aspects of law and order in Bihar. His appointment to the Home Ministry is a key decision in the formation of the new council of ministers.
Nitish Kumar, a seasoned politician with a remarkable career, has previously held the Home Ministry during his numerous terms as Chief Minister. His first term in 2000 was brief, but he has since served multiple extended periods, shaping Bihar’s administrative landscape.
The oath-taking ceremony for the new ministers was a grand affair held at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the event underscored the national significance of the new Bihar government’s inauguration.
