
The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has initiated the recruitment process for Sub-Inspector positions, offering a total of 1799 vacancies. The recruitment includes a provision for women, with 35% of the available posts reserved specifically for them. The distribution of posts is as follows: General (850), EBC (273), BC (222), SC (210), EWS (180), ST (15), BC Women (42), and Transgender (7).
To be eligible, candidates must be between 20 and 37 years old as of August 1, 2025. Age relaxation is applicable to candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) according to BPSSC regulations. All applicants are required to pay a fee of ₹100. The selection process includes a preliminary examination, a main examination, a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a medical test, and document verification. Candidates must successfully clear each stage to be considered for the position.
The basic salary for a Sub-Inspector in Bihar Police is ₹35,400 per month (Level-6). Including allowances such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and transport allowance, the in-hand monthly salary for an SI is approximately between ₹49,000 and ₹54,000.
