
Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, transferring Rs 10,000 to each of the 75 lakh women beneficiaries in Bihar. This direct benefit transfer totaled Rs 7,500 crore and is part of the scheme aimed at promoting self-employment and strengthening livelihoods for women in the state. The Bihar government’s scheme seeks to empower women through financial assistance, enabling them to pursue various employment activities. The program provides an initial grant of Rs 10,000, with the potential for additional financial support up to Rs 2 lakh. The funds can be utilized in diverse sectors such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and small-scale enterprises. Community resource persons from Self Help Groups will offer training, and Gramin Haat-Bazaars will be developed to facilitate the sale of products. The launch of the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana featured a widespread program across multiple administrative levels, reaching over 1 crore women.
