A video showing a man at the Bhagalpur railway station in Bihar waving a Palestinian flag and raising contentious slogans has become widely circulated on social media. This has resulted in an alert response from local authorities and police, who have launched an investigation. The video shows a man standing on a parcel trolley while others below chant provocative slogans. The individual, wearing a kurta-pyjama and head covering, is seen atop a parcel trolley, waving the Palestinian flag and shouting slogans such as “Palestine Zindabad” and “Israel Murdabad.” The video also includes the inflammatory slogan “Sar Tan Se Juda,” heightening the sensitivity of the situation. The official confirmation of the viral video is still pending.
The video is claimed to have originated from an Instagram account identified as ‘Arman Hussain.’ This account also features a video of the man interacting with Rahul Gandhi. The precise timing of when the offensive video was recorded is currently undetermined.
The police have initiated an investigation. Bhagalpur’s SSP, Hridayakant, has confirmed a comprehensive inquiry. The police are working to identify the individual and understand his motivations. Any action that jeopardizes social harmony will be dealt with, he stated.
Former Union Minister Ashwini Choubey has strongly criticized the incident. He stated that such individuals threaten the country’s unity. Describing the flag-waving as a ploy to disturb social peace, he linked it to the 1989 Bhagalpur riots, suggesting it could be a planned political move, potentially involving Congress and RJD supporters. The police are currently searching for the man and conducting a thorough investigation. The administration has appealed to the public to maintain peace.
