
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and surrounding areas, cautioning residents about the potential for heavy rain and strong winds. The warning, which is in effect until 7:10 PM on Tuesday, highlights the likelihood of moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning, accompanied by surface wind speeds of 30-40 kmph in Cuttack, Kendrapara, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), and Sundargarh. Furthermore, the weather agency’s midday bulletin predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms in Sundargarh, Sambalpur, and Jharsuguda. The low-pressure system, currently situated in Jharkhand, is anticipated to progress west-northwestwards over the next day. Heavy rain is expected in multiple districts until July 5.
