Authorities in Bihar are investigating the inclusion of two Pakistani women in the state’s voter list. The women, who are believed to have come to India around 70 years ago, were identified during a verification drive conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The ministry’s investigation revealed that voter ID cards were issued to Imrana Khanam and Firdousia Khanam, residing in Tank Lane. These women were even verified during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process conducted before the 2025 assembly elections, resulting in the issuance of voter ID cards. The issue came to light after a formal communication was received from the Home Ministry on August 11.
