As political parties prepare for the Bihar Assembly elections, the National President of the National Women’s Congress, Alka Lamba, has criticized Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, stating that women have lost trust in him. She believes Bihar is ready for a change and that the upcoming elections will bring about a shift in the state’s political landscape.
Lamba also shared that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be in Bihar on Friday, focusing on engaging with women voters and addressing women’s issues in collaboration with the Mahagathbandhan. The visit will begin with a program at Sadaqat Ashram, followed by a helicopter trip to Motihari where Gandhi will address a large rally. The rally will center on themes such as women’s empowerment, inflation, and unemployment.
Priyanka Gandhi’s first stop will be at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna, where she will hold a joint discussion with women leaders and activists from all the Mahagathbandhan parties. The Women’s Congress believes this will bolster the changing attitudes of women in Bihar politics.
Alka Lamba noted that women once supported Nitish Kumar, but the situation has changed. She claimed that women no longer trust him and are unhappy with his leadership. Lamba predicted a substantial change in the upcoming assembly elections, with the NDA facing a major setback.
Addressing the Prime Minister’s recent announcement to provide 10,000 rupees to women, Lamba suggested that it was a tactic employed in response to the Congress’s initiatives for women. However, she expressed confidence that the women of Bihar are discerning and will not be swayed by such announcements.
