
In preparation for the Bihar assembly elections, RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has introduced a new team, following his re-election as party president for the thirteenth time. The National Executive Committee has been formed, with former Chief Minister Rabri Devi being appointed as vice-president and Jagdanand Singh, previously the state RJD president, receiving a significant role. This move is seen as a strategic maneuver by the RJD supremo.
Jagdanand Singh, the former Bihar RJD president, has been appointed as a national vice-president. Other national vice-presidents include Mehboob Ali Kaiser and Uday Narayan Chaudhary. A notable change is the removal of Shivanand Tiwari from his previous position as a national vice-president.
A notification released on Saturday by Lalu Prasad Yadav detailed the new appointments within the party. Abdul Bari Siddiqui will serve as Secretary-General, and Sunil Kumar Singh is the National Treasurer. The General Secretaries appointed are Jayaprakash Narayan Yadav, Dr. Neel Lohit Das, Bhola Yadav, Lalit Kumar Yadav, Kumar Sarvjeet, Syed Faisal Ali, Abhay Singh, Sukhdev Paswan, Sushila Murale, Anu Chako, Binu Yadav, and Renu Kushwaha.
The Secretaries named are Yaduvansh Kumar Yadav, Dr. Lal Ratnakar, Bharat Bhushan Mandal, Kartikey Kumar Singh, Vijay Verma, Santosh Kumar Jaiswal, Sanjay Thakur, Rajendra Ram, Sweety Seema Hembram, and Surendra Ram.
Appointments for the national presidents of various party cells have also been announced. The National Women’s Cell, National Youth Cell, National Minority Cell, National Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell, National Farmers’ Cell, and National Students’ Cell all have new presidents.
Former Union Minister Kanti Singh has been appointed to lead the National Women’s Cell. Abhay Kushwaha, MP from Aurangabad, will head the National Youth Cell, and former Union Minister Mohammad Ali Ashraf Fatmi will lead the National Minority Cell. Shivchandra Ram, a former Bihar government minister, will lead the National Scheduled Castes and Tribes Cell.
Sudhakar Singh, MP from Buxar and son of Jagdanand Singh, is the new president of the National Farmers’ Cell. Professor Naval Kishore has been appointed as the president of the National Students’ Cell.
Lalu Prasad Yadav was elected as the party’s national president on July 5th. This new team announcement came 20 days after the RJD National Executive meeting. The appointment of a professor, Naval Kishore Yadav, to lead the National Students’ Cell is a significant move.
