The upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar have ignited a political storm, with accusations of irregularities surrounding the electoral roll. The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) has come under fire, with allegations of both inclusion of deceased voters and the omission of living ones. RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav has claimed his name is missing from the draft voter list, despite having submitted the required form. He questioned how he would run in the election. The JDU responded by accusing Yadav of misleading the public. Yadav stated during a press conference that even with his EPIC number, his information could not be found. The Patna district administration confirmed that his name is on the list but with changes to his polling station and serial number. Yadav raised concerns about potential manipulation of voter data, while the Election Commission countered that Yadav’s name is present in the draft roll. The JDU’s spokesperson criticized Yadav’s actions. The SIR, intended to ensure accurate voter registration, allows for objections to be filed between August 1st and September 1st, 2025. The last intensive revision in Bihar took place in 2003. Voters can check their details online.
