The Department of Revenue and Land Reforms in Bihar is set to launch a comprehensive Revenue Mega-Campaign across the state, running from August 16th to September 20th. A meeting was held on Sunday at the Revenue Survey Training Institute, Shastrinagar, to strategize the campaign’s implementation, involving representatives from the three-tier panchayat system, along with officials and staff.
Presiding over the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh from the Department, discussed the widespread issue of inaccuracies in land records, which impacts a significant portion of the state’s residents. Despite the availability of online services, problems persist concerning processes such as property transfers and record rectification.
The campaign seeks to address these issues through various initiatives, including accepting applications for online land record corrections, inheritance transfers, partition transfers, and online registration of missing records. Teams will conduct home visits to distribute land record copies and application forms. Exceptional performers will be recognized with district and state-level awards.
The three-tier panchayat representatives are expected to be instrumental in ensuring a successful campaign, by creating public awareness and distributing land record copies and application forms. Officials and staff will also contribute by distributing land record copies and application forms at the mouza level.
ACS Singh highlighted the goal of effectively implementing the campaign. Collaboration has been established with the Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj Department, Scheduled Castes and Tribes Department, and the Information and Public Relations Department. Their staff will also be integrated into teams, aiding in the successful operation of the camps.
IT Manager Anand Shankar provided a detailed breakdown of the Revenue Mega-Campaign, emphasizing its three phases: preparation, organization, and execution. He noted that the deadline for releasing the circle-wise micro-plan is August 12th, accessible via the department’s online portal. Applications submitted at the camps will be immediately registered with unique identifiers, allowing applicants to track their status. The welcome address was delivered by Director J. Priyadarshini.
Representatives from various organizations, including the Mukhiya Sangh, Panchayat Secretary Sangh, Ward Member Sangh, Gram Kachahri Nyamitra Sangh, Bihar Revenue Amin Sangh, United Revenue Service Sangh, Panch Sarpanch Sangh, Bihar Administrative Service Sangh, and Bihar State Land Reforms Employee Sangh, shared their suggestions during the meeting.
