Good news for those planning to return to Bihar during the Durga Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja festivals! The government will be running bus services to facilitate travel for those going home. Starting from September 20 and running until November 30, these buses will operate on routes to Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The initiative will utilize a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to ensure a sufficient number of buses are available for the increased demand.
A meeting was held at the BSRTC premises in Phulwarisharif on Monday, led by administrator Atul Verma, with bus operators in attendance. Key guidelines were established during this meeting to ensure smooth operations.
Online Booking Starts September 1. Online booking for these buses will commence on September 1, 2025, through the BSRTC website. Passengers who are unable to book online will have access to e-ticketing machines on the buses.
Passenger Amenities. Passengers will benefit from affordable ticket prices. All buses will be clearly marked with the BSRTC logo and necessary stickers. Buses traveling to Delhi and Haryana will be staffed with two drivers. Clear fare and discount information will be displayed on the buses.
Charging excessive fares is prohibited. Consumption or possession of alcohol on the buses will be strictly prohibited and punishable. All required documentation, including tax, pollution certificates, insurance, and permits, must be in order. Drivers are required to follow the designated speed limits.
Train Tickets are Difficult to Obtain. During festive periods, train tickets become scarce due to increased travel demand. The BSRTC is launching this initiative to alleviate the challenges faced by travelers.
