Krishnanandan Paswan, Bihar’s Sugarcane Industry Minister, has instructed officials to ensure timely payments for sugarcane and expedite survey operations in the state. He explicitly stated that any lapses would trigger strict action against implicated officials and mill management. The minister further advocated for increased participation in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to boost local development. The directives emerged from a review meeting conducted at the Development Building office, which the minister presided over. The meeting’s agenda encompassed the current state of sugarcane payments, survey progress, ongoing departmental programs, sugar mill expansion strategies, regional development council payments, and the necessity of research, development, and innovation. During the review, it was revealed that sugar mills had already disbursed 99.80% of the sugarcane value. Furthermore, schemes such as the Chief Minister Sugarcane Development Scheme and the Bihar Jaggery Promotion Scheme were examined, with directives issued to ensure their effective implementation.
