The Bihar Police is facing a moment of disgrace. A female SI, posted at the Naokothi police station in Begusarai, stands accused of seeking a bribe to remove charges from a case. A video of the SI, which has gained significant traction on social media, demonstrates the SI apparently negotiating the removal of sections of the law in exchange for money. The video spans 10 minutes and is now the subject of an official investigation. SP Manish Verma has initiated disciplinary proceedings.
The female SI has been suspended with immediate effect. Leelavati is the name of the suspended SI. The video shows her discussing money with an individual to have case charges dropped. The amounts of 5,000 and 20,000 rupees are explicitly mentioned.
Following the confirmation of the allegations, necessary action was taken. SP Manish Kumar Verma was alerted to the video, and the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Bakhri was directed to conduct an inquiry. Upon the investigation’s conclusion, Leelavati was suspended. Moreover, disciplinary action has been initiated against her for violating departmental rules.
The Begusarai Police issued a press release to address the issue, acknowledging the circulation of the video featuring the female SI. The video was investigated, leading to immediate action. The incident has ignited considerable public discussion about the methods employed by the police in the region. It is worth noting that this is not the first such incident at Naokothi police station.
Earlier, another police officer from the Naokothi police station was involved in a similar incident. This had also led to the officer’s suspension. The recent suspension of the female SI highlights the ongoing issues faced by the police station.
