
As the Bihar assembly elections approach, political parties are ramping up their preparations. The Congress party is actively involved in its election efforts. In this context, the Bihar Pradesh Congress Screening Committee will hold meetings on August 13th and 14th at Sadaqat Ashram. During Raksha Bandhan, Dr. Shashibhushan Prasad, spokesperson for Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), celebrated the festival with visually impaired girls at the Antar Jyoti Balika Vidyalaya in Kumhrar, Patna. 1. Congress Screening Committee Meetings Set:
The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee will hold screening committee meetings on August 13 and 14, 2025, at Sadaqat Ashram to prepare for the upcoming 2025 assembly elections. These meetings will feature discussions on political dynamics with potential candidates from various districts. According to Rajesh Rathore, the Chairman of the Pradesh Congress Media Department, the three in-charge secretaries will collect detailed information from the candidates from their respective districts and present it to the Screening Committee. The in-charges will meet with the prospective candidates.
On August 13, in-charge secretaries Sushil Pasi and Devendra Yadav will interact with potential candidates from West Champaran, East Champaran, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Nalanda, Patna City, Patna Rural 1 and 2, Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur, and Gaya districts. On August 14, 2025, in-charge secretaries Devendra Yadav and Shahnawaz Alam will meet with potential candidates from Jehanabad, Arwal, Aurangabad, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Jamui, Saharsa, Supaul, Madhepura, Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, and Khagaria districts.
2. Congress’s Tiranga Yatra on August Kranti Diwas:
The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee organized a Tiranga March from Sadaqat Ashram to the Shaheed Smarak on Saturday in honor of the 83rd anniversary of the ‘Quit India Movement’. The party paid floral tributes to the martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak and pledged to uphold the unity and integrity of the nation. The Tiranga Yatra proceeded from Sadaqat Ashram through LCT Ghat, Rajapur, Boring Road Chauraha, High Court Mor, and Veerchand Patel Path, concluding at the Shaheed Smarak.
After paying floral tributes at the Shaheed Smarak, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram administered the pledge to all Congress members. He highlighted that the nation is built on sacrifice, dedication, and the sacrifices of martyrs. He emphasized that Congress members are committed to maintaining the nation’s unity and integrity. He also emphasized the party’s history of sacrifice and contribution.
3. Rakhi Celebrations with Visually Impaired Girls:
Dr. Shashibhushan Prasad, state spokesperson of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), celebrated Raksha Bandhan with visually impaired girls at Antar Jyoti Balika Vidyalaya in Kumhrar, Patna. The girls tied rakhis on his wrists. Dr. Prasad distributed sweets and clothes to the girls and assured them of his ongoing support. He also provided financial assistance to the school.
4. BJP MLA’s Support to Orphans:
Dr. Sanjeev Chaurasia, the BJP MLA from the Digha assembly constituency, arranged a meal for orphan children at Rajvanshi Nagar, Patna, on Raksha Bandhan. The orphan girls also tied rakhis on his wrist. JDU leader Kamal Nopani and other social workers were also present.
5. CM Nitish Kumar’s Raksha Sutra Gesture:
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar tied a raksha sutra to a tree at Rajdhani Vatika in Patna on Saturday to mark Raksha Bandhan and ‘Bihar Tree Protection Day.’ The CM also planted a sapling there. The initiative ‘Bihar Tree Protection Day’ was launched on August 13, 2012, with the goal of raising environmental awareness, protecting plants, and promoting afforestation.
Attendees included Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Dr. Sunil Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. S.
