The political landscape of Bihar is experiencing heightened tensions following a statement by Tej Pratap Yadav. The former RJD member and son of Lalu Prasad Yadav announced on Wednesday that one of five individuals he considers “traitors” was preparing to leave Bihar. He indicated that this person, accompanied by their family, was scheduled to depart from Patna Junction. Yadav questioned the implications of this action, especially with elections on the horizon, and left the matter for public and media judgment.
Yadav emphasized that he would expose all the individuals involved and requested the media to remain vigilant, suggesting the possibility of departures from Patna Airport, Patna Junction, or bus stations.
Earlier, Tej Pratap Yadav accused Akash Yadav and others of plotting to undermine his political career by circulating his photo. He asserted that these efforts would be unsuccessful and that he would persist in strengthening his political standing. He also stated his intention to engage in public communication and contest in the elections across the state via his organization, Team Tej Pratap Yadav, and challenged his opponents to meet him on the field.
Prior to these incidents, he had criticized the ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ led by Rahul and Tejashwi Gandhi, further advising Tejashwi Yadav to be wary of “traitors.” This follows his expulsion from the RJD and being disowned by his family after a photograph of him with a woman surfaced. Consequently, he declared his intention to run as an independent candidate from Mahua and continues to allege conspiracies against him.
