
A wedding in the Vaishali district of Bihar was marred by violence when a dispute arose regarding the ‘Jaimala’ ceremony. The groom’s party initiated an assault after being informed that the ritual was not part of the bride’s family traditions. The incident resulted in injuries to multiple individuals from the bride’s side. A video of the brawl has gone viral on social media, showing the groom’s party attacking the bride’s family. The disagreement started when the groom’s friends insisted on the ‘Jaimala’ ceremony. After the bride’s family explained their customs, the groom’s party threatened to cancel the wedding. Despite the initial tension, the wedding took place. However, the bride’s brother was later attacked at the groom’s house, and the bride’s father, along with other family members, were also subsequently assaulted by the groom’s party. The injured were admitted to a hospital for treatment.
