A wedding in Bhagalpur, Bihar, has captured widespread attention due to its unique circumstances. Amidst severe flooding, the groom and his wedding party had to use a boat for their journey. The area of Bakharpur village was completely submerged, necessitating this unconventional approach.
The groom, Devmuni Kumar, and his wedding party traveled 35 kilometers by boat to the bride’s village in Katihar district. The wedding preparations had been set a month prior. The groom and his baraat embarked from their home in a Scorpio car for a short distance and then transitioned to a boat. The baraat was made up of around 25-30 people.
The groom expressed his disappointment at the absence of traditional celebrations he had envisioned, but the circumstances necessitated the use of a boat instead of cars. The entire wedding party and the dowry were also transported via boat. The wedding demonstrated resilience and adaptability in the face of adversity, reflecting the impact of the recent floods.
